How to access through mobile app & web browser

How to view playback of multiple cameras

Playback allows you to view recorded footage. This can be seen on both a mobile device and your preferred web browser.

  1. Mobile Device (IOS) :

    1. Within your iPhone’s applications, locate and open the Protect application.

    2. When the application is opened, there will be a dropdown option at the top of the screen where you can choose your own site/console. Tap on the correct site/console .

    3. Once you’re in the site/console home screen, at the top you will see some motion captures. You are able to playback at different times to see the cameras captures.

  2. Mobile Device (Android) :

    1. In Your Android device, look for the Unifi Protect application. Tap on it to open.

    2. When inside the Unifi Protect application, choose your site/console to continue.

    3. Once you’re in the site/console home screen, at the top you will see some motion captures. You are able to playback at different times to see the cameras captures.

  3. Web Browser :

    1. Open your preferred browser and enter unifi.ui.com in your search bar. Once there, enter your email/username and password.

    2. Once in the Site Manager home screen, you’ll see your site and below it will be a small camera icon below, click on your site/console’s camera icon to launch Unifi Protect.

    3. You will see a left side bar, please click on the 3rd tab named Playback to view your camera’s captures.

    4. Once in the Playback tab, you will see on the bottom, there will me all of cameras too choose from. After a camera is chosen, you’ll see a timeline on the right side. You can do this for each of your cameras.

    5. On the right next to timeline are detections. Here you can see recorded videos with time slots next to it.

How to review the timeline of a camera's video

Timeline feature allows users to adjust playback speed. If you need to look at a specific time, you are able to with the Timeline feature.

  1. Mobile Device (IOS) :

    3. Once you’ve navigated to your site, there will be a bottom navigation bar. Please tap on the second one to open your Devices tab.

    4. In the Devices tab, a navigation bar at the top provides options for All, Cameras and NVR(Network Video Recorder); Each camera displays a status indicator on the left side, showing its current connection status. Tap on the first camera you see to see the camera’s overview.

    5. Inside overview, you can all the device specifications as well as the current status and connectivity. To view your playback, simply tap on the live feed video and scroll until you have checked the desired time.

    6. Repeat the steps D through E for each of the cameras that you own to view the playback of your cameras.

  2. Mobile Device (Android) :
    1. In Your Android device, look for the Unifi Protect application. Tap on it to open.

    2. When inside the Unifi Protect application, choose your site/console to continue.

    3. In the site/console home screen there will be a bottom navigation bar ;Please tap on the second one to open your Devices tab.

    4. In the Devices tab, a navigation bar at the top provides options for Cameras and NVR(Network Video Recorder); Each camera displays a status indicator on the left side, showing its current connection status. Tap on the first camera you see to see the camera’s overview.

    6. You can also check previous dates as well.

    7. Repeat the steps D through E for each of the cameras that you own to view the playback of your cameras.

  3. Web Browser :
    1. Open your preferred browser and enter unifi.ui.com in your search bar. Once there, enter your email/username and password.

How to set motion detection, smart detection and crossing line zones

  1. Mobile Device (IOS) :

    1. Inside your site, there will be a bottom navigation bar. Please tap on the second one to open your Devices tab.

    2. In the Devices tab, a navigation bar at the top provides options for All, Cameras and UNVR (Unifi Network Video Recorder); Each camera displays a status indicator on the left side, showing its current connection status. Tap on the first camera you see to see the camera’s overview.

    3. Inside overview, you can all the device specifications as well as the current status and connectivity. To set your motion and smart detection zones, please tap on Recording Mode.

    4. Scroll all the way down to the Advanced section below.

    5. First tap on Motion Zones. As you can see, you’re able to rename the zone, increase or decrease how sensitive you want the capture to be and you can also stretch and condense the zone as seen in the camera.

    6. When you go back and tap on Smart Detection Zones, it is similar to the Motion Zones. The only difference is you’re able to toggle a specific detection type.

    7. To configure the Crossing Line zone, tap on the back arrow in the top left to go back to the camera’s Recording Mode tab. Then proceed to scroll down to the Advanced section then tap on Crossing Line.

      1. Crossing Line will trigger a motion recording when an object (Animal, Person,Vehicle) crosses that line.

    8. Inside Crossing Line, tap on Add Crossing Line.

    9. Here, you can change the name of the crossing line as well as the detection types. You can also move and place the crossing line to your liking. You can also delete it.

  2. Mobile Device (Android) :

    5. When you go back and tap on Smart Detection Zones, it is similar to the Motion Zones. The only difference is you’re able to toggle a specific detection type.

    6. To configure the Crossing Line zone, tap on the back arrow in the top left to go back to the camera’s Recording Mode tab. Then proceed to scroll down to the Advanced section then tap on Crossing Line.

    7. Inside Crossing Line, tap on Add Crossing Line.

    8. Here, you can change the name of the crossing line as well as the detection types. You can also move and place the crossing line to your liking. You may delete the crossing line if you scroll down (not visible due to smaller android display).

  3. Web Browser :
